HouseEurope! Paints Copenhagen Yellow
HouseEurope! takes over Copenhagen with striking poster campaign to mobilise people as part of the Copenhagen Architecture Biennial 2025
Copenhagen, 15.09.2025 — HouseEurope!, the pan-European initiative advocating for the reuse and transformation of existing buildings, is making waves in Copenhagen with a striking poster campaign unveiled across the city. As part of the Copenhagen Architecture Biennial 2025, the campaign aims to mobilise citizens, architects, and policymakers to rethink urban renewal and embrace sustainable building practices.
The posters, displayed in key cultural and public spaces, call for collective action to preserve and repurpose Europe’s architectural heritage rather than demolishing and rebuilding. HouseEurope! brings its mission to one of the world’s most design-forward cities to spark dialogue and inspire locals to imagine a more sustainable future for urban environments.
“We’re here to make reuse irresistible,” says HouseEurope!. “Copenhagen’s biennial is the perfect platform to show that rethinking what already exists isn’t just environmentally responsible—it’s culturally powerful.”
“This year, we have one wish: please support our OBEL Award 2025 Winner, HouseEurope!, if you’re passionate about affordable housing, the climate, people over profit and cultural heritage. Your voice has the power to change EU laws that favour renovation over demolition if you sign their European Citizens’ Initiative now!“, states Jesper Eis Eriksen, Executive Director at OBEL.
The poster campaign will run throughout the biennial. Join the various HouseEurope! activities during the festival—from film screenings, discussions to seminars—and be part of the movement shaping Europe’s future:
